In September 2006, Chad Townsley and his father (pastor from Princeton, IL) teamed up to re-establish a church plant in the western suburb of St. Charles. Throughout the winter of 2006 a weekly Bible study and periodic weekend gatherings were facilitated. In April 2007 a weekly Sunday celebration service was launched. By August 2007, Chad assumed the role as Lead Pastor of the small but growing body of believers known as Calvary Pentecostal Church.
The church has been holding its worship services and Bible classes near historic downtown St. Charles. The chapel-style building that is used was built in the early 20th century. It has been an exciting journey to witness the awakening of something new within the walls of an existing traditional building. Spring of 2009 brought about a re-branding of our assembly. Our desire was to better align ourselves with the pattern of the first church given in the New Testament - to be apostolic in principle, practice, and power. Thus the new name - The Apostolic Church of Greater Chicago, Inc.
Since the start, Pastor Chad Townsley has cast a vision for a house of hope and healing that could not be contained within the space of this small building. After many months, much prayer and counsel, the time has come for us to step into the next chapter of our life.
Yes, we are selling our present facility.
No, we are not closing.
Presently, we are in the process of searching and securing a new location that will facilitate the mission of The Apostolic Church of Chicagoland. We invite you to join with us in this journey!
